For this piece, I drew the American flag and turned the stripes into prison bars. Instead of adding stars, I added figures that represent slaves laying on a slave ship. The purpose of this piece was to show how the imprisonment of African Americans mimics slavery. In both instances, many blacks are robbed of their voice and forced to work for corporations.
